This week's
illustration friday topic is extra special - because I chose it!!!!! It was a suggested topic of mine from way back, and I have to admit it was pretty darn cool to open my weekly
IF email from
Penelope Dullaghan, and see my name there (and when you go to the
IF website, in the top left-hand corner where the current topic is posted, my name and a link to my site are there too!!).
So here it is - Rosa Parks as the embodiment of
Brave.
Beautiful illustration, the textures are gorgeous and the line work very delicate.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for this week´s topic, very fun.
Great illustration! I love the textures and choice of the color palette. And thank you so much for your topic... so inspirational to work on this word.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations all round: great suggestion and great response! RP was one brave, brave lady, as were all the folks who backed her up.
ReplyDeleteThis is really beautiful, I love it!
ReplyDeleteGood choice of a topic! Coincidentally, Rosa Parks was actually my first go-to for this topic (I was going to illustrate the bus she rode), but went a different route instead. Thanks for the inspiring topic. - Dion

ReplyDeletebeautiful portrait, such sensitive line work and love the collage background.
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous portrait. Love the colorless face against the pattern-y background. She truly is the embodiment of bravery.
ReplyDeleteAnd congrats on the topic pick!!
Fantasic portrait. I love the balance of flat pattern against the detail of the face.
ReplyDeleteWow, this just makes me feel good to look at it.
